In this section, we are pleased to present information developed at the Alzheimer Society of Cambridge which others have found helpful while coping with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. The intent of providing this information is that you will be able to use it to help yourself and others understand the challenges faced by people with dementia and how best to help them. If you are working in this field, you may freely copy these materials, provided you give attribution of their source. These materials may not be sold.

An 8 week educational program for people with the insight to understand that they have been diagnosed with Alzheimer disease or a related dementia.
A search and rescue program for long-term care homes developed (2002) in conjunction with the Alzheimer Society of Kitchener-Waterloo, facility personnel and police. The links below are to (1) background information, (2) an educational presentation (you can save this to your computer as a powerpoint file), (3) the manual as adapted by Alzheimer Canada, and (4) master forms for development of an in-house search and rescue, or "Code Yellow" binder, as described in the manual.
